Band of Riders Bike-a-thon
A team of 25 riders had the opportunity to go for the 300km/4day Taiwan bikeathon, cycling from Hualien to Taitung and back to Hualien. It was an unforgettable experience and this was the most physically challenging activity to some of us who don’t exercise regularly. We biked in the rain every day and we really thank God for His protection. Injuries were minimal and minor. But plenty of busted tyres. Enjoyed every moment spent with the bike mates and having fun together. The Taiwanese were very supportive and friendly. Many cheered “jia you” as we biked pass. We successfully raised $1.5M raise for the refugee work of VCSL via this event.
A band of riders cycled 300km in 4 days from Kaohsiung to Kenting, over the coastal and mountainous roads in Taiwan. The route and short time frame tested us physically and mentally, and with a small team of support we covered the distance with minimal injuries and complaints. We raised HK$900K for the refugee work of The Vine Community Services.
